Abstract:
A charging device (10A) is a charging device (10) that wirelessly charges a terminal device that is disposed on a placement surface (12A) and that includes a power receiving unit that receives power that is wirelessly sent. A power transmission coil (30) transmits power to the terminal device. A power transmission control unit (50E) transmits power to the power transmission coil (30). Detection coils (40) are for detecting a disposal position of the terminal device on the placement surface (12A). A signal output unit (46) outputs, to the detection coils (40), a first signal for generating a magnetic field for detection. A signal detection unit (48) detects an echo signal that is sent as a response to the detection coils (40) from the terminal device reacting to the magnetic field for detection. A determination unit (50B) determines, on the basis of a detection result of the echo signal, whether the terminal device is in an estimated range (64) within which charging can be performed by the power transmission coil (30).
