Abstract:
An on-chip polarizer based on a phase change material-silicon hybrid integrated waveguide. Initial polarized light is input into an input end of a polarized light beam splitter; a first output end of the polarized light beam splitter is connected to a first input end of a TE light selective passing-type coupler, and a second output end of the polarized light beam splitter is connected to a first input end of a TM light selective passing-type coupler; a first output end of the TE light selective passing-type coupler and a first output end of the TM light selective passing-type coupler are connected to two input ends of a polarized light beam combiner; and an output end of the polarized light beam combiner outputs final polarized light. A crystalline state or an amorphous state of a phase change material on a directional coupler of a hybrid waveguide is controlled by means of an electrode, such that the selective passing of TE light or TM light can be realized.
