Abstract:
A circuit breaker 100 is provided with: a power supply-side terminal 24 which is provided on a base 11; a fixed contact 27 which has a downward current path 27a that runs down from the power supply-side terminal 24 toward the direction of the bottom face of the base 11, first current paths 27b, 27c that extend from the downward current path 27a toward the direction of a movable contact 23, a second current path 27e that extends from the first current paths 27b, 27c toward the direction of the power supply-side terminal 24 and that is equipped with a fixed contact point 21, and an arc runner 27f that extends from an end of the second current path 27e toward the direction of the power supply-side terminal 24; said movable contact 23 which is provided with a movable contact point 22 that comes into contact with and separates away from the fixed contact point 21; an arc extinguishing device 51 comprising a plurality of grid panels 51a that have notches 51a1 surrounding both of the contact points 21, 22; and a shielding part 52b which is provided between the downward current path 27a and the arc runner 27f and which blocks magnetic fields produced by the current flowing through the downward current path 27a.
