Abstract:
A circuit for implementing a shift instruction in an RISC-V instruction set. The circuit is integrated with a shift module, and the shift module is composed of a left-hand shifter, a right-hand shifter, and a subtractor. Upon transmission of an instruction from an instruction cache region, the instruction enters a decoding module to complete instruction decoding, and at this time, decoding information and operands enter the shift module, the left-hand shifter is used to complete a left-shift instruction, the right-hand shifter is used to complete a right-shift instruction, and the subtractor is responsible for providing shift distance operands for the left-hand shifter and the right-hand shifter, and after operation is completed, a result submission instruction is outputted, and execution of the instruction is completed. All shift operation instructions contained in the riscv architecture instruction set are supported, and the time sequence is easy to converge, so that a higher dominant frequency can be obtained. The present invention is especially suitable for an architecture design pursuing a high-performance CPU.
