Abstract:
A clamper mechanism (30) for a motion-guiding device comprises a clamper block (31) having tapered surfaces (31a), clamper rolling elements (32) disposed between the tapered surfaces (31a) and left and right surfaces of a bearing race member (11), and clamper rolling element retainers (33) attached to the clamper block (31) via elastic members (34). When elastic force exerted by the elastic members (34) acts in a direction so as to separate the clamper block (31) and the clamper rolling element retainers (33), the clamper block (31) is restrained relative to the bearing race member (11) due to the clamper rolling elements (32) meshing into the tapered surfaces (31a). When an external force acts against the elastic force exerted by the elastic members (34), the clamper block (31) is unrestrained relative to the bearing race member (11) due to the clamper rolling elements (32) being capable of moving freely within the tapered surfaces (31a). Due to this configuration, the clamper mechanism (30) for a motion-guiding device can exhibit stable clamping force without adversely affecting the performance of the motion-guiding device or the service life of the device.
