Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1982/002942
Kind Code:

A cloth for rapidly cleaning and wiping the inside of a gun and connon bore, replacing a cotton cloth or cut cloth as used a present, to clean powder smoke, gas, dirt, oil and grease, dust, moisture, rust or the like in the bore of gun or cannon employed in the army, navy and air force or of a pistol or hunting rifle for private use, by exploiting multiple air bubble property, stretchability, elasticity, absorptivity and adsorptivity, heat resistance, cold resistance, mechanical tension and tear durability and wear resistance of foamed urethane resin material produced by the synthesis of polyester and diazocyanate. When a foamed urethane sheet is molded by the synthesis of polyester and diazocyanate, a mesh cloth (2) is interposed as a reinforcing material therebetween to mold a long foamed urethane sheet (a), is cut in a prescribed size to conform to the bore of the gun barrel, and is molded continuously into a flat type cleaning cloth (1) for cleaning the bore of a gun or cannon. A thick foamed urethane sheet (3) is punched simultaneously with an inserting hole (e) at the center, and with longitudinal recesses (4), for (4) on the outer periphery by means of a stamping machine, a shrinkable tube (7) having strong shrinkability and coated with an adhesive solution is inserted into the hole (e), the upper and the lower surfaces of the plate are coated with the solution, and the plate is bonded integrally toward the outer upper and lower peripheral portions of the tube in an elongated elliptical shape to provide the cleaning cloth.
