Provided are a clustering-based light bar extraction method and apparatus. The method comprises the following steps: A, obtaining a light bar image; B, using an Otsu algorithm to segment the light bar image obtained in step A so as to obtain a light bar region and a background region; C, independently performing clustering operation on each row or each column of the light bar region to obtain a plurality of effective regions; D, respectively calculating the center coordinates of each effective region obtained in step C, and using the center coordinates as the light bar center points of the effective region; and E, the set of all the light bar center points being the light bar coordinates of an initial light bar image. Clustering is performed on a single row or a single column to achieve a denoising effect, and multi-row or multi-column data processing can be simultaneously performed, and thus, the light bar extraction precision is guaranteed, the light bar extraction speed is increased, and the noise resistance and robustness are higher.
