Abstract:
The cutting tool according to an embodiment has a substrate obtained from a hard-metal alloy and a coating layer provided on the substrate surface. The coating layer has a first layer that contacts the substrate and contains Ti(CxN1-x) (0≤x≤1), and the mean KAM value measured by the EBSD method using a scanning electron microscope with an electron backscatter diffraction image system for WC particles in the region from the surface of the substrate to a depth of 5 µm is 1° or less.
