Abstract:

A problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a coating film formation method, whereby brightness can be greatly varied into shade (a slanted direction) from a highlight (near regularly reflected light) that can be applied to industrial products such as two-wheeled automobile exteriors and automobile internal components, chroma is high from the highlight to the shade, and a coating color of gentle texture can be formed. The present invention relates to a coating film formation method for forming a metallic base coating film including a scale-like aluminum pigment on an object to be coated, and forming a color-clear coating film including a coloring pigment and a luster regulator on the metallic base coating film, the coloring pigment included in the color-clear coating film being a transparent pigment, and a coating film of the transparent pigment having a thickness of 100 µm, containing 1 part by mass of only the transparent pigment as a colorant per 100 parts by mass of a resin solid content as a vehicle-forming component, and having a haze value in a range of 0.1 to 10.0.
