Abstract:
Disclosed are coding and decoding methods for point cloud coordinate transformation residual error, and an apparatus. The coding method comprises: obtaining original point cloud data; performing coordinate transformation on the original point cloud data, and obtaining coordinate transformation residual error; establishing a relationship between the coordinate transformation residual error and azimuth angle information of a point cloud; determining a coding rule for the coordinate transformation residual error according to the relationship between the coordinate transformation residual error and the azimuth angle information of the point cloud; performing coding on the coordinate transformation residual error according to the coding rule, and obtaining code stream information. The present invention amply utilizes a relationship between coordinate transformation residual error and other information and designs a more accurate and effective context model for entropy coding of the coordinate transformation residual error, and thereby point cloud coding efficiency is improved.
