Abstract:
A coherent light source (21) for hologram recording/reproduction emits a light having an oscillation wavelength half width &Dgr &lgr satisfying the relationship &Dgr &lgr <&lgr 2/(S×2sinѲ) where S is the substantial size of the hologram, Ѳ is the substantial angle of intersection of the reference light and the signal light, and &lgr is the oscillation wavelength. Even if stray light is produced, unwanted interference fringes due to the stray light is prevented, and thus the coherent light source (21) enables stable recording and reproduction of a hologram.
