Abstract:
[Problem] To improve the magnetic properties of a coil component having a structure in which an inter-layer insulation film is provided between a spiral coil pattern and a magnetic element. [Solution] A coil component 1 is provided with an inter-layer insulation film 41 that covers coil patterns CP1–CP3 from one side in the axial direction, a magnetic element M1 that is embedded in an inner-diameter region of the coil patterns CP1–CP3, and a magnetic element M2 that covers the coil patterns CP1–CP3 from the one side in the axial direction, with the inter-layer insulation film 41 interposed therebetween. The inter-layer insulation film 41 comprises a protruding section 41A that protrudes radially toward the inner-diameter region, and the protruding section 41A curves toward the other side in the axial direction. Since the protruding section 41A curves in the axial direction in this manner, the entrance of the magnetic path located in the inner-diameter region is wider in comparison to having the protruding section 41A protrude in a straight line toward the inner-diameter region. As a result, decreases in magnetic properties attributable to the protruding section 41A are suppressed.
