Abstract:
Provided is a coil material straightening device which makes it possible to perform high quality straightening without wasting coil material, and to obtain a high quality processed product. A leveler 40 comprises: a plurality of straightening rollers 44 that press a coil material 12 alternately from above and below in cooperation with each other, and are capable of adjusting the relative positions of the upper and lower rollers; a lower exit roller 42b disposed downstream of the straightening rollers 44 to support the coil material 12 from the lower side thereof; a sensor 47 disposed downstream of the lower exit roller 42b to detect a height position of the coil material 12; and a control unit 46. The control unit 46 executes a first decision step for deciding, on the basis of the result of the detection made by the sensor 47, whether a warped state of the coil material 12 is within a predetermined tolerance range, and a second decision step for deciding, on the basis of the result of the decision made in the first deciding step, whether to make an adjustment to the relative positions of the straightening rollers 44, and to execute conveyance of the coil material 12 in a reverse direction.
