Abstract:
Provided is a cold start-compatible urea SCR system using an exhaust gas purification device that has a diesel fuel injection means, a DOC, a lean NOx trap release (LNTR) material, an SCR, and a measurement and control means, wherein the DOC and LNTR are divided and supported above and below or in front and in back by a support, the DOC being situated in a top layer, a bottom layer or on a front side and the LNTR being situated in the top layer, the bottom layer, or on a back side, and wherein satisfactory nitrogen oxide reduction performance is exhibited, even when starting the engine when the exhaust gas temperature is low and urea water cannot be injected, by: continuously detecting the intake port temperature of the SCR starting from engine start and adsorbing emitted nitrogen oxide with the LNTR; injecting the diesel fuel when the SCR intake port temperature has reached a temperature suitable for denitrification; desorbing the nitrogen oxide as appropriate from the LNTR by combusting the injected diesel fuel on the DOC to raise the temperature of the exhaust gas; and causing the desorbed nitrogen oxide to come into contact, on the SCR, with the NH3 produced by injecting the urea water.
