Abstract:
A collision energy absorption component 1 for an automotive vehicle according to the present invention has a tubular member 3 formed using a hat-cross-section member having a top plate part 7a and vertical wall parts 7b, a coating-film-formation member 5 made of a material having lower strength than the tubular member 3, the coating-film-formation member 5 being disposed on a portion of outer surfaces of the top plate 7a and the vertical wall parts 7b including corner parts 7c that connect the top plate part 7a and the vertical wall parts 7b, and being installed across a gap 11 of 0.2-3 mm from an outer surface of the top plate part 7a, outer surfaces of the vertical wall parts 7b, and outer surfaces of corner parts 7c, and a coating film 13 formed of electrodeposition paint in the gap 11.
