Abstract:
This combustion system (70) is applied to an engine (80). The combustion system (70) has an injection device (40) that injects fuel (F) into a combustion chamber (38), a spark plug (50) that ignites the fuel (F) in the combustion chamber (38), and a control device (60) that controls the injection device (40) and the spark plug (50). The control device (60) has a first control unit (67) that executes a prescribed first control (β1). In the first control (β1), control is performed so that a total injection amount, which is all of the fuel (F) injected by the injection device (40) in one combustion cycle of the engine (80), is injected within a first time period (T1), which is a time period from a valve-closing timing (IVC) at which an intake valve (23) closes until the first half of the compression stroke of the engine (80) ends.
