The purpose of the present invention is, even when a connection with an information terminal has been severed during the provision of a service, to sustain the service with an operation not being required on the part of a user. A communication device (20) according to the present invention comprises a selection unit (263) which, while a connection is established by the same communication protocol with each of a plurality of information terminals (11) – (1n) which are capable of providing a plurality of instances of content (111) – (1n1), and during the outputting of a first instance of the content (111) which is provided by the communication protocol from a first information terminal (11) from among the plurality of information terminals (11) – (1n), if severing of the connection with the first information terminal (11) has been detected, selects a second information terminal (12) from among a plurality of information terminals (12) – (1n) and switches to the output of a second instance of content (121) which is provided from the second information terminal (12) by the communication protocol. On the basis of information which relates to each of the information terminals, the selection unit (263) selects the second information terminal (12) from among the plurality of information terminals (11) – (1n).
