Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a communication device and a control method configured to make it possible to increase variation in the state of connection between electronic devices. A transmission unit transmits a modulation signal in which a baseband signal is frequency-converted, using a prescribed carrier, to a signal having a higher frequency band than the baseband signal. A detection unit detects the terminal part of a second electronic device that has a terminal part that is detected by a first electronic device as a communication counterpart. A control unit transmits the carrier to the transmission unit in response to detection of the terminal part. The present invention is applicable, inter alia, to communication between designated electronic devices; e.g., communication between a universal serial bus (USB) host and a USB device.
