Abstract:
Provided are a communication device and a communication method for carrying out direct communication with terminals. The communication device, which operates as a terminal under the control of a base station, is equipped with: a communication unit that transmits/receives a wireless signal; and a control unit that controls the transmission of data using a prescribed resource pool by the communication unit. At the time of packet reception, the control unit: determines the implementation of packet relay communications within the prescribed resource pool, on the basis of at least one of information notified from the base station, information notified from another terminal, and information obtained from the host terminal; and implements relay communications using a resource captured by the transmission origin terminal, the host terminal or the base station.
