Title:
COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/078348
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention eliminates a period during which communication with a communication partner cannot be performed at the time of switching to a communication line relayed by a different satellite. This communication device is provided with: a receiving antenna 2 comprising a plurality of element receiving antennas 1 which receive radio waves and output element reception signals, respectively; an element reception signal processing unit 5 which outputs signals obtained by processing a plurality of element reception signals and received from two electronically and independently changeable directions; a transmitting antenna 4 comprising a plurality of element transmitting antennas 3 to which element transmission signals are inputted and which transmit radio waves, respectively; an element transmission signal generation unit 6 which generates element transmission signals capable of transmitting radio waves in two electronically and independently changeable directions; two modulation/demodulation units 8A, 8B which modulate and demodulate signals transmitted and received by two communication lines, respectively; and a control unit 11. The communication device operates while switching between a search mode in which communication is performed while a main satellite is being tracked, and directions in which beacon signals transmitted by satellites can be received are searched for in a search range, and a two-line mode in which communication is performed while a sub-satellite and the main satellite that have been detected in the search mode are being tracked, respectively.
