Abstract:
Provided are a communication method and apparatus, which are used for solving the problem of it not being possible to migrate application context between two edge data network centers. The method comprises: an edge configuration server (ECS) receiving a first request message, wherein the first request message is used for discovering an edge enabler server (EES), and the request message indicates a communication requirement for a target EES; the ECS determining at least one EES that satisfies the communication requirement; and the ECS sending a response message, the response message carrying information of the at least one EES. In the embodiments of the present application, a communication requirement for a target EES is indicated in a request message for discovering an EES, such that during the switching of application context, it is possible to avoid the selection of a target EES, which is not in communication connection with a source EES, or a communication connection type or communication connection quality of which does not satisfy a communication requirement of the migration of the application context, thereby ensuring the service continuity of an application.
