The present application provides a communication method and apparatus, which help improve the transmission efficiency of an uplink XR service. The method comprises: a terminal device sends to a core network device a first identifier indicating a transmission requirement, and then the terminal device obtains a quality of service flow satisfying the transmission requirement according to a first parameter sent by the core network device, and sends multiple pieces of first information to the access network device on the basis of the quality of service flow, wherein each piece of first information comprises a second identifier, and the second identifier comprises marker information of the data unit to which the first information belongs. The method facilitates the transmission of multiple pieces of information belonging to the same data unit as a whole, thereby improving the transmission efficiency of the uplink XR service.
