Disclosed is a method for preparing a coating-modified high-nickel ternary positive electrode material, and the present invention relates to the technical field of lithium-ion battery positive electrode materials. The present invention comprises the following steps: (1) preparation of a lignin-amine-modified polymer emulsion, involving: reacting a diisocyanate with a dihydric alcohol, then adding lignin modified with an organic amine, instead of an amine chain extender, to prepare a modified polymer emulsion; and (2) adding the high-nickel ternary positive electrode material to the modified polymer emulsion obtained in step (1), and then carrying out spray drying and curing same to form a film, thereby obtaining a coating-modified high-nickel ternary positive electrode material. The beneficial effects of the present invention lie in that spray drying and curing are used in the present invention for film formation, a polymer coating layer is continuous and homogeneous, the material is provided with good mechanical properties, and structural changes caused by a reduced cobalt content can be inhibited; in addition, a large amount of wastewater resulting from a wet coating process is reduced and the manufacturing costs are reduced.
