Abstract:
The embodiments of the present application disclose a communication method and a communication apparatus. The method provided by the embodiments of the present application comprises: a terminal device receives a reference signal from a first cell, the time domain resources occupied by the reference signal being less than the sum of the time domain resources occupied by a synchronization signal block (SSB) of the first cell and system information (SI) of the first cell; and the terminal device sends a wake-up signal (WUS) to the first cell, the wake-up signal being used to wake up the first cell to send the SSB and/or the SI. Thus, the terminal device can quickly access the cell. Therefore, the delay in the terminal device accessing the cell is reduced, and communication performance is improved. The time domain resources occupied by the reference signal are less than the sum of the time domain resources occupied by the SSB of the first cell and the SI of the first cell. The first cell consumes less power when broadcasting the reference signal. Thus, the energy consumption overhead of the first cell is reduced.
