Abstract:
Provided are a system and method whereby the data volume during transfer to a terminal of a screen having movement created on a server side can be decreased, lag due to a network can be decreased, and the processing load on the server side can be suppressed. In the server device according to the present invention, operation information of a terminal connected via a network is received, an application is executed by a virtual client unit in accordance with the operation information and a generated screen is divided into blocks by a dividing unit, regions of the screen are differentiated by a differentiating unit into at least two types including a first region and other regions other than the first region from an image characteristic quantity for each block, and the first region is changed (reduced) to a pre-set size and reduction-encoded on the basis of a size relationship to a pre-set size and transmitted to the terminal together with region information of the first region. In the terminal, the first region is decoded and the screen size thereof changed (enlarged), and the first region is combined with the image of the other regions and displayed.
