Abstract:
Provided is a communication system which has an improved communication efficiency. A label information control unit (30a) generates and transmits label information including at least one of communication cost information, which relates to communication cost occurring when the local apparatus is used for communication, and communication media information that relates to communication media used for communication with another apparatus. A path control unit (21) receives the label information to create a list of paths that can be used for communication with the other end of communication and detects, from the path list, a communication path to be used for the communication. The path control unit (21) creates the list that contains all paths that include ones of relay apparatuses (30-1 to 30-n) that allow the local apparatus to communicate with a communication apparatus (20) by use of the communication media possessed by the local apparatus. The path control unit (21) then detects, based on the communication cost information included in the label information, that one of the communication paths in the path list which provides the lowest communication cost.
