Provided is a compact connector for a vehicle, the connector making it possible to check whether or not a predetermined flexure margin is provided through a dimensional inspection at the time of manufacturing, providing a sufficient contact load, and reliably enabling electrical connection. The compact connector for a vehicle is constituted of a contact 10 and a receptacle 20. The contact 10 is formed of a conductive plate-shaped member by sheet metal working and includes: a suction face 11 that enables suction by a mounter; solder sections 12 that are located at positions facing the suction face 11 and that enable soldering; pole sections 13 interconnecting the suction face 11 and the solder sections 12; and plate-shaped contact sections 14 that are formed in a divergent fashion and that are flexible in closing directions. The receptacle 20 is formed of a conductive plate-shaped member by sheet metal working and includes a U-shaped sandwiching section 21 that sandwiches the contact sections 14 of the contact 10 while bending the contact sections 14, and an electrical connection with the contact 10 can be formed by bringing the inner side face of the sandwiching section 21 into contact with the outer side faces of the contact sections 14 of the contact 10.
