Abstract:
Provided are a compensation control method and apparatus for forward error correction. The method comprises: acquiring a bit error ratio (BER) values generated when an FEC algorithm is performed during the process of recovering an original signal after signal light and local-oscillator light are coherently mixed; according to the BER values, judging whether pre-set communication requirements are satisfied; when the communication requirements are satisfied, determining an adjustment basis according to a plurality of acquired BER values, and sending the adjustment basis to a receiving device, so that the receiving device adjusts the power of current local-oscillator light according to the adjustment basis; and acquiring BER values after the power adjustment of the local-oscillator light, until it is determined that the minimum BER value is acquired. By adjusting the power of local-oscillator light, the solution of the embodiments of the present invention optimizes a BER value, thereby improving the communication performance.
