Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composite honeycomb sandwich panel equipped with a composite-rail aluminum I-shape side insert, and more specifically, to a novel structure of a hybrid composite sandwich panel having a laminated composite skin and an aluminum honeycomb core, with enhanced mechanical efficiency in terms of assembly, intensity, and weight, and comprises: a plate-shape honeycomb core; a composite-rail wrapped around the outline of the honeycomb core, having a hollow portion perforating the front and the back thereof; an I-shape center rail insert that is fitted inside the hollow portion of the composite-rail and interconnects the adjacent sandwich panels through bolt-coupling; and a plate-shape laminated composite covering the top and the bottom surfaces of the honeycomb core having the composite-rail wrapped around.
