Abstract:
The present invention provides a water-repellent composition for coating materials, said composition enabling easy removal of dirt, while having good appearance since the water-repellent component thereof exhibits excellent compatibility with other constituent materials. The present invention provides a composition for coating materials, said composition containing a siloxane group-containing polymer (A) and a crosslinking agent (B), wherein: the siloxane group-containing polymer (A) is a block copolymer that contains a block A and a block B; the block A contains at least a structural unit derived from a siloxane group-containing vinyl monomer (a); the block B contains a structural unit derived from a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl monomer (b), and if necessary, a structural unit derived from another vinyl monomer (c) that is copolymerizable with the vinyl monomers (a) and (b); the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) is 2.0 or less; and the copolymer is polymerized by means of living radical polymerization.
