Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, treating, improving a muscle disease or regenerating muscle damage, containing squalene. More specifically, the squalene of the present invention increases the expression of proteins involved in muscle protein synthesis and muscle mass increase in muscle cells, inhibits an expression of enzymes involved in myoprotein degradation at the level of mRNA, and has an effect of restoring the recovery of damaged muscle quickly. Also, the present invention is a natural product so as to be safely used without side effects, and thus can be used as medicine, food, or cosmetics.
