Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for inducing cancer cell death, comprising a conditioned medium prepared by culturing fibroblasts in a hypoxic condition, a medium composition for inducing cancer cell death or for inducing the inhibition of cancer cell proliferation, a pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing cancer, and a method for preparing a composition for induction of cancer cell death. The conditioned medium prepared by culturing fibroblasts in a hypoxic condition according to the present invention can be used to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells and to induce cancer cells to undergo death, thereby finding applications in anticancer agents. In addition, the conditioned medium prepared by the method of the present invention can be used to specifically kill cancer cells only, without inducing the death of neighboring normal cells and as such, can be advantageously used in a pharmaceutical composition, clinically immediately applicable, for treatment or prevention of cancer.
