Abstract:

The present invention, which has been completed after discovering the skeletal muscle mitochondrial function improvement, muscle atrophy inhibition, and muscle synthesis promotion effects of an extract of Aster glehni Fr. Schm, provides the use of the extract of Aster glehni Fr. Schm. for treating muscle disorders, as well as the use thereof in pharmaceuticals, non-pharmaceuticals, perfumery materials, functional bio-materials, and functional food materials for inhibiting muscle loss, increasing muscle mass, and promoting muscle function.
