Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a novel composition for use in the oral cavity, in particular a composition for use in the oral cavity that is effective in inhibiting the adhesion of periodontal disease bacteria to animal cells and suppressing the pilus expression of periodontal disease bacteria. The present invention provides a composition for use in the oral cavity that includes cacao bean extract. This composition for use in the oral cavity can be used as an agent to inhibit the adhesion of periodontal disease bacteria to animal cells, an agent to suppress the pilus expression of periodontal disease bacteria, etc.
