Abstract:
A compressor (10) comprises a casing (20) that stores lubricating oil (25) in the bottom, a compression mechanism (30) that is provided inside the casing (20) and that compresses a drawn-in fluid, an electric motor (40) that is provided above the compression mechanism (30) and that drives the compression mechanism (30), and a discharge pipe (22) that opens into a space higher than the electric motor (40) within the casing (20). The compressor (10) also comprises an oil discharge mechanism (60) that utilizes a swirl flow created by the rotation of the electric motor (40) to guide the lubricating oil (25) adhering to the inner walls of the casing (20) to the discharge pipe (22).
