Abstract:
In the present invention, lensed optical fibers 1 having a structure wherein a rod-like GRIN lens 3 is coaxially welded to the tip of an optical fiber 2 are connected to each other by grinding the end surface of the lensed optical fiber 1 to form a spherical surface with a curvature radius R of 2 mm or greater and clamping the end surfaces to each other. Thereby, the connection loss resulting from connection via physical contact can be reduced.
