Abstract:

A socket body and a header body are reinforced by reinforcement members individually inserted in the bodies, and as a result, a projection table section in an insertion groove of the socket body is eliminated to reduce the dimension in the width direction of the bodies. The socket body is formed by resin molding into a flat, substantially rectangular solid, and on both end sections in the longitudinal direction of the socket body are inserted socket reinforcing metal members which each have a pair of fixing sections projecting outward from the lower end of side walls of the socket body and have a connection section connecting the pair of fixing sections. A substantially rectangular insertion groove is formed in the center portion of the socket body. Pairs of socket contacts are arranged in two rows on side walls in the longitudinal direction of the socket body, and the socket contacts are along the insertion groove. On both end sections in the longitudinal direction of the header body are integrally inserted header reinforcing metal members having a cross-sectional shape almost the same as that of the header post.
