Abstract:
Provided is a connector wherein the rattling of the front end section of a terminal fitting can be prevented using a front retainer.
A lance (22F, 22S) is provided on one side of the front end of each cavity (13F, 13S), the lance (22F, 22S) being configured so that the lance (22F, 22S) will be elastically deflected into a deflection space (25) when a terminal fitting (50) is inserted in the cavity (13F, 13S), and will be elastically restored and engaged with the terminal fitting (50) when the terminal fitting (50) is inserted to a regular position. A slit (34) is formed in the partition wall (14) located between the cavities (13F, 13S) adjacent to each other in an arrangement direction, the slit (34) being in communication with the deflection space (25) of one cavity (13S) and with the other cavity (13F) and being open toward the front of a housing (10). A front retainer (40) is provided with a protrusion (41S) which extends from the slit (34) into the deflection space (25) of the one cavity (13S) and which is in contact with a side surface of the front end (51) of the terminal fitting (50) accommodated within the other cavity (13F).
