Abstract:
Conventional connectors faced problems such that, when fitting with a mating connector, if the gap between the two connectors was not properly filled, then, during high-speed transmission of an electrical signal, the connector would suffer deterioration of high-frequency characteristics due to rattling. This connector is provided with multiple terminals, an insulator holding said multiple terminals, and an external conductor shell housing said insulator, wherein, by providing an inclined portion which, rising from the side wall of the external conductor shell, is disposed on the side wall area contacted by the edge portion of a fitting recess of the mating connector, when the fitting part on the external conductor shell distal side of the connector and the fitting recess of the mating connector are fitted together, the gap occurring when a lock protrusion of the connector engages in a lock hole of the mating connector can be prevented in that the edge portion of the opening of the fitting recess of the mating connector is pressed by the inclined portion provided on the side wall of the fitting portion of the connector, whereby the side wall of the lock protrusion is pressed against the inner wall of the lock hole.
