Abstract:
The invention belongs to the sector of wooden door and window construction. It is a new method of assembling the wooden sections that form the framework of doors and windows and doors made of vertical planks. The current method of building the wooden frameworks of doors and windows is with wedges and mortice and tenon joints. However this method does not adequately address the tensions that such frameworks face. The joints eventually become loose and framework converts from a rectangle to a parallelogram as the corners lose their right angles. Weight is a continuous force applied to the framework of doors and windows and this, along with the seasonal contraction and expansion of the wood cause the wedges, adhesive and the mortice and tenon joints to weaken. The solution to this problem is to use continuous threaded rods (a) that traverse holes (b) in vertical wooden sections of the frame and grooves in the horizontal sections of the frame. The continuous threaded rods (a) can also be inserted vertically through holes (b) of the horizontal sections of wood and traverse grooves cut into the vertical sections of wood of the framework. At the end of the continuous threaded rods (a), there are nuts (d) that are tightened to fasten the sections of wood together. Theoretically the framework can lose its rectangular shape only if the rods are elongated. The application of this invention is to use continuous threaded rods (a) in the construction of wooden doors and windows.
