[Problem] To provide a container image distribution system, a distribution method, and a program, whereby, when executing a prescribed application using a terminal or external system, the execution environment does not need to be prepared beforehand for each terminal and external system. [Solution] A container image distribution system that: registers container images comprising an application and a group of programs for an execution environment for the application; receives, from a user, startup instructions that start up the registered container image; receives a selection from the user about the platform for distributing the container image, if a startup instruction has been received; and distributes the container image for which the startup instruction was given, to the selected platform.
