Abstract:
A content recording/reproduction system records and reproduces a sub-content associated with a main content. The system includes a distribution device, a first recording medium, a second recording medium, a recording device, and a reproduction device. The first recording medium which is disabled for re-write contains key data and a main content recorded in advance to serve as a base for deriving a public key. According to a secret key corresponding to the public key, the distribution device performs digital signature on related information associated with the sub-content, generates and outputs authentication information including the sub-content. The recording device acquires the authentication information and records it on the second recording medium which is enabled for re-write. The reproduction device acquires the key data from the first recording medium and acquires the authentication information from the second recording medium. Moreover, the reproduction device derives the public key from the key data, authenticates the authentication information by using the public key derived, and reproduces the sub-content if the authentication result is successful.
