Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to prevent content accumulated at one's home from being used in a manner that goes beyond personal use when that content is being transferred over an external network. A server appends an allowed play time when carrying out a registration of a terminal for remote access. In carrying out a stream transmission of content to the terminal, the server reduces the allowed play time by the transmitted time, and disallows further transmission when the remaining allowed play time reaches zero. Additionally, in carrying out a movement of the content to the terminal, the server subtracts the length of the content from the allowed play time, and disallows further transmission when the remaining allowed play time reaches zero.
