Title:
CONTINUOUS VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2000/050785
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
A continuous variable transmission, comprising a pair of conical disk (4, 5) pulling a V-belt (2), a plurality of cogs (6, 7) on the surfaces of the disks, each disk surface has an opposite shape of the contrary disk, wherein the distance between the two surfaces are constant along every diameter, the belt includes moving pins (11) that can move in a path through the belt to both sides of the belt, when the peak (7) on the first disk (5) pushes the edge of the pin (11a) inside the belt (2) the second edge of the second pin (11b) is pushed out of the belt through the second side of the belt and enters the opposite socket (6) on the second disk (4).
