Abstract:
A control apparatus for a compression auto-ignition engine (1). The control apparatus uses ignition to control compression auto-ignition and comprises an injector (6), an ignition plug (25), and a controller (10). The controller (10): controls the injector (6) such that fuel is injected multiple times; and then outputs a control signal to the injection plug (25) at prescribed ignition timing such that an air-fuel mixture unburned by ignition combusts by auto-ignition. The control is performed such that, of the multiple injections, more fuel is injected during later injections when the load on the engine (1) is high as compared to when the load is low.
