Abstract:
A control device for steer-by-wire steering mechanism, wherein there is provided a tire lateral force detecting means (41) for detecting tire lateral forces acting on left and right wheels, and a toe angle control means (6) for independently controlling the toe angle of the left and right wheels so that the detected tire lateral force is used as a target lateral force. The toe angle control means (6) sets target lateral forces (FLt, FRt) when deceleration is not occurring so that there will be no change in the sum total of the left and right target lateral forces, but there will be a decrease in the absolute-value sum total; and sets the target lateral forces (FLt, FRt) when deceleration is occurring so that straight-line stability is achieved.
