Abstract:
As an electrolyte for a Li storage battery (also referred to as "a Li storage battery electrolyte") which contains a compound that can improve safety of a storage battery without causing the deterioration in performance of the storage battery and a Li storage battery using the electrolyte, a Li storage battery electrolyte which comprises at least 1,1-diphenylethane and a Li storage battery using the electrolyte are provided. Particularly preferably provided are: a Li storage battery electrolyte comprising 1,1-diphenylethane, a cyclic carbonate (e.g., ethylene carbonate), a linear carbonate (e.g., dimethyl carbonate, diethyl carbonate, ethyl methyl carbonate) and a Li salt; and a Li storage battery containing the electrolyte.
