This control method is executed by a first device used by a first user among a plurality of devices sharing a distributed ledger for managing content owners in a distributed ledger system including the plurality of devices. The control method comprises: transmitting, through short-range wireless communication to a second device used by a second user among the plurality of devices, identification information of a smart contract including a process for providing content in accordance with a content provision condition accepted by the first user (S202); receiving, through short-range wireless communication, transaction data including identification information of the second device and instruction information for instructing execution of the smart contract (S205); storing the received transaction data in the distributed ledger (S206); and changing the owner of the content from the first user to the second user by executing the smart contract (S207).
