Abstract:

Provided is a control method for an image pickup device and interchangeable lens that enables focus to be set to a designated distance using an operation member when performing manual focus. The present invention comprises the following: a focus lens (11b) that is provided in a lens barrel which includes an image pickup lens and that can move in the optical axis direction; a range ring (51) that is disposed so as to be rotatable within the angular range of a first end point and a second end point with respect to the lens barrel; a storage unit (37) for storing a first relationship of an angle of rotation of the range ring (51) and a distance, and a second relationship of the position on the optical axis of the focus lens (11b) and a distance; and a lens CPU (41) for calculating a distance corresponding to the rotation angle of the ring member on the basis of the angle of rotation of the range ring (51) and the first relationship, and setting the optical-axis position of a focus adjusting lens on the basis of the calculated distance and the second relationship.
