Abstract:
This A/D converter is characterized by comprising both a non-binary β-conversion cyclic-type A/D conversion circuit and a binary-or-less sequential comparison-type A/D conversion circuit, wherein: a β-conversion cyclic-type A/D conversion circuit is applied to an A/D conversion circuit that performs A/D conversion in a prescribed bit range; a sequential comparison-type A/D conversion circuit is applied to an A/D conversion circuit that performs A/D conversion in a lower-order bit range than the prescribed bit range; and the result of the A/D conversion in the prescribed bit range performed by the β-conversion cyclic-type A/D conversion circuit and the result of the A/D conversion in the lower-order bit range obtained by performing A/D conversion on a post-A/D conversion residual signal by the sequential comparison-type A/D conversion circuit are synthesized by a digital synthesis unit so as to obtain an A/D conversion result to be outputted by the A/D converter.
